Ice Cube met me at the Mondrian hotel in West Hollywood for this cover shoot. It was just the two of us so I set up a make-shift studio in a rented hotel room and went to work. We were together for about an hour and had a chance to share some thoughts while we took the photos. It’s always nice to get a chance to make a one on one connection with an artist without managers, record labels executives or even a make-up artist to get in the way. circa 1993
